A way to connect without giving out your phone number
Communication works best when people can find one another with clarity and choice. The Zaloba Number gives each supported account a personal identity for connecting inside Zaloba, so people can share a Zaloba identity without having to share a phone number.
A Zaloba Number is a 16-digit number generated by Zaloba. It is displayed in groups of four digits, making it easier to read and check when you are adding someone. The number is a Zaloba identity within the service; it is not a phone number, a SIM identifier, or a password.
We are rolling out Zaloba Numbers carefully. New accounts created through the verified email-registration flow receive a number during account creation. Some existing or legacy accounts may not yet have one while this rollout continues.

Zaloba generates the number with cryptographic randomness and enforces uniqueness in its database. That means the number is assigned by the service rather than chosen from a phone number or selected by another person.
The number is read-only while the account exists. Account deletion ends the account and clears its Zaloba Number from the account record. We do not describe deleted numbers as permanently reserved or promise that a number will be reused later.
Find the people you know
To connect with someone, enter their exact Zaloba Number in Zaloba and add the returned profile as a contact. Search is deliberately scoped: phone numbers, usernames, display names, partial matches, and open-ended directory browsing are not the normal Zaloba Number lookup path.
Finding a profile does not override the rest of Zaloba’s privacy model. Blocking, account status, contact relationships, and profile visibility rules still apply. A Zaloba Number by itself does not grant permission to message or call someone.
A personal identity with room for choice
The Zaloba Number is one small part of building more meaningful connections. It gives people a clear way to find one another inside Zaloba while leaving room for consent, privacy, and the boundaries each person chooses for their account.
A separate QR flow is used for linking an authorized device to Zaloba Web. That device-linking QR is different from a contact QR code and should not be treated as a way to share a Zaloba Number.
